Secure pension and benefits
UC staff are committed to careers in public service. We have been willing to trade some of our current wages for pensions that will provide us with secure retirement income. Unionized and public employees are among the remaining workers with a defined benefit plan (pension). But our pensions are under attack: The University’s Office of the President has used the current budget situation to increase employee pension costs and reduce benefits for future employees. |
