|Pay raises—what's next?|
The recently-announced pay increases for unrepresented staff came as welcome news, marking a small step toward restoring market equity to our pay rates. Thanks to the thousands of administrative professional staff who signed petitions to the Regents and chancellors in support of a fair pay increase. Imagine what we could accomplish with more members participating!
The upcoming (July 1) 1.5% increases in pension contributions remind us that we have a long ways to go. UPTE-CWA Local 9119, the union for professional employees, wants to know more about your experiences with pay and other work-related situations.
Individuals were sent an invitation to take a new survey about wages, reclassification, equity increases, and other topics of interest to UC employees.
We’ll publish the results so we can all learn a bit more about the “big picture” issues for administrative professionals.
And don’t forget to show your support for a union for professional employees. You can join the union by downloading and filling out a membership application. Call us toll-free at 888-740-8783 and we’ll be happy to pick it up.
