How to get a raise at UC – right now
Administrative professionals are not happy with their pay, as UPTE's recent survey makes clear, but many also remain unaware of options they have to improve their wages right now.

 Among respondents:
  • 43% have never requested a reclassification
  • 65% haven’t sought an equity increase
  • 86% haven’t asked for an administrative stipend

And newer employees are much less likely to know how to take advantage of these procedures, the survey shows.

Yet all three methods have helped thousands of UC staff improve their paychecks – even amid the current climate of pay freezes, cutbacks, and understaffing.

As part of administrative professionals’ ongoing campaign to improve wages, UPTE members offer wage workshops at all campuses that explain the mechanics of winning reclassification, equity increases, and administrative stipends.

We want to provide the resources to improve pay now, while we work together for fair pay in the long term.
