Help for UC funding crisis
UC is in a funding crisis. Governor Brown’s proposition to raise taxes to fund public education has qualified for the November ballot. However, we cannot cut our way out of funding shortfalls and we can’t try to balance the budget on the backs of student fee increases. That’s why the passage of this proposition is so important.

New revenues are critical to sustain adequate staffing levels. Recent cuts threaten the high quality services we provide in support of the mission of the University. UPTE (the union for professional employees at UC) supports Governor Brown’s proposition. UC President Yudof and his administration strongly support this proposition.

Organizational strength and resources are necessary to confront a crisis of this magnitude. Support UPTE for administrative professional employees so that administrative professionals can join the 80,000 unionized employees who are working to save public education in California.

To register to vote, click here. More information about the proposition will be sent soon, including campus voter registration sites.

Please feel free to download a copy of this poster (black/white | color) and post it in your worksite. And tell your family and friends to vote to support education in the November election. Polling now indicates it will be a very close vote.
